"Having lived in Las Vegas for 28 years myself, I found The Vegas Factor hard to put down. Ray Hoy’s eye for detail and his background as a casino marketing expert serve him well in this adventure into the underworld of vice and crime. His story encompasses all the necessary human emotions with realism and skill.”

A Unique Book.

"The Vegas Factor is unique because it combines underworld brutality with the human and heroic, and the hero, Jack Frost, is representative of both. Frost’s friend, a semi-retired syndicate boss, asks for Frost’s help in protecting Las Vegas singer, Felicia, who had been in love with their son just killed in a race car accident. She had left her not so nice old life because of him, and at his death her last casino boss, Harry Varchette, is determined that she return to him and her past life. He orders his very frightening body guard and hit man, Benny Florentine, to find her and bring her back. The body of the book leaves the reader with “the stakes are high and the game is going wrong” feeling. Ray Hoy combines fast-paced action with light-hearted humor, which often involves J.T. Ripper, Frost’s very independent Doberman. Although the book is violent, there are moments that are poignantly human and memorable, such as the blossoming love between Felicia and Frost. I am looking forward to reading the next books in the series." — The Roving Reader

"Hoy writes with strong imagery and concise, evocative diction, throwing the reader straight into the action, allowing relationships and connections unfurl as the story does. And believe me, this is a story that pulls no punches. Highly recommended if you are at all into action or thriller material.”

“The action starts on page one and pulls you along to the end. Frost and Red Sleeves are adversaries, but I found myself cheering for both of them, because both combined strength, focus and above all honor. It’s always a worthwhile read when even the bad guy is a good guy, in his own way. And, by the way, as you get near the very end and think you have a handle on the finish, fugedaboudit. Whatever ending you come up with is wrong. If you like strong characters and a strong story, and very sexy women, A Proper Time To Die is your cup of Scotch.”  — Richard A. Herman, Laszlo’s Fire

“I don’t normally give 5 stars to any of my reviews, as I’d like to think that the author(s) still have a bit of work to do ... but this book rang my bell. Jack Frost bends over backwards to help his friends (and their girlfriends) ... ends with a great conclusion fight scene and I won’t spoil it for you ... read it yourself.”

“Book #2 in Ray Hoy’s Jack Frost Thriller Series is another fast-paced, action thriller. Again the reader gets a look behind the Las Vegas glitz and glamour, as Jack Frost confronts casino owner/mobster Harry Varchetta, who got off scot-free for the murder of singer Felicia Martinez. Vowing to get justice for Felicia, Jack Frost rents an RV in Vegas as his base of operations and settles in for the duration with his ferocious Doberman, J.T. Ripper. Readers should brace themselves for a totally unexpected surprise ending! Of course, you’re going to have to read Ray Hoy’s Book #3, Nightmare in Neon, to find out what happens next.”

“A Proper Time to Die, the second book in the series of Jack Frost thrillers by Ray Hoy, is a smart, sexy, entertaining adventure. In his quest to avenge the murder of a beautiful young woman, Frost encounters a suave but deadly adversary named James Red Sleeves. This time the lives of two young women depend of the strength and cunning of Frost. The suspense keeps the reader on edge until the final sentence is fully digested. I can’t wait for Nightmare in Neon, the third book in this series.”

“In Nightmare in Neon, Ray Hoy’s skills as a storyteller will keep readers on the edge of their seats. Once again he creates characters who are fond of dirty dealing, betrayal, and unexpected surprises.”

"I just finished Nightmare in Neon, the third book in Ray Hoy’s series featuring Jack Frost. It’s another winner with Frost pitted against a clever and resourceful adversary. You better stay alert until the final word, which is never a problem with this nonstop action.”

"Plan to read this novel in one setting, for you won’t be able to put it down. This third book in the Jack Frost Series begins with action. Frost’s enemy, a corrupt and unrelenting casino owner, has hired a hit man to settle a score with Frost, one which involves the death of his daughter. As the book opens, Frost barely avoids a wreck, but the speeding driver causes another vehicle to crash. Despite the danger to himself, he turns back and saves a young woman from a car about to go up in flames—and the romance and a life-and-death struggle for survival begins. This book actually has two heroes, Frost and his Doberman, J.T. Ripper, who adds an element of fun. Highly recommended for people who enjoy fast-action."  — The Roving Reader
